Help Desk Software A help desk is a problem-solving tool designed to provide technical support concerning a specific product or service. All departments in an organization contribute to the help desk to provide internal support according to the expertise of that department. Users of the help desk function may be that of the customer or an internal operator. The help desk is responsible for bringing an organization's resources together in order to provide its customers with quality support and service. In the past, telephone call centers were the main source of customer support for most businesses. The use of a help desk in this capacity suffered many shortcomings and did nothing to improve a companies CRM (customer relationship management). Some of the problems customers encountered using this type of help desk include: * Long periods of time spent on hold due to unpredictable call volume and shortage of operators handling incoming calls. * Customers are often transferred from one department to another before reaching someone able to resolve their problem. * Most call centers are not available 24 hours a day. Customers who are unable to call during business hours are forced to leave a message and often find themselves having to make follow up calls in order to get results. In today's business world, help desks have become a crucial part of a businesses service function. In many cases, the help desk creates an image and represents a company in the eyes of its customers. The importance of the help desk function in any organization should not be under estimated. Real Estate Vacations Home Loans Magnets Magnetic Sweepers |
